We're starting a new series this year called, "Instagram accounts we're loving," which is (as you would expect) dedicated to showcasing some amazing Instagram accounts that we stalk.
I'm starting the series with art accounts. I've written about art several times on our blog and on our IG feed and I continue to write about art because there are so many AMAZING artists out there and I want to find them all! Aside from hashtags and following suggested accounts, another great way to find new and exciting art is to follow accounts like Framebridge, which is a wonderful online framing service that we use. Framebridge has an amazing feed to showcase their beautiful framing and they always tag the artist in the post. I've come across so many great feeds this way - it's worth a try.
Here are some accounts that I love, so go check them out! You'll quickly realize that I'm kinda into abstract faces and figures :)
I absolutely love the abstract Giclee original paintings and prints by Clare Elsaesser. Clare says that her paintings are "inspired by daydreams, retreats the formidable nature outside (her) window" and I totally agree that her work feels like a dream. I love her color palettes and can see her work in any room, in any house.
No, these are not faces and figures, but guess what, I'm obsessed them! Jackie's body of work is so amazing - from intricate drawings to large scale collages to amazing diptychs she really creates unbelievable art and she is so exciting to watch.
I actually have the Ka'iuliani print by Hayley Mitchell in my home that I absolutely adore so naturally I've been following her for awhile. I actually have my eye on the middle print above as well! Hayley's art is fun and thought-provoking and you should definitely check her out.
These bold and bright abstract prints by Maren Devine bring me such joy. I love the vibrant colors and while I don't want to play favorites, that Frida print NEEDS to be at the Olive + Opal office.
I absolutely love these abstract watercolor prints by Andrea Hurtarte. I love her use of soft neutral colors and love that her prints feel soft, light and feminine. I think these would be beautiful framed in my master bathroom.
I hope that you love these artists as much as I do and start to follow their amazing bodies of work. And hopefully this serves as encouragement to pull the trigger to put original art in your home. You will never regret it!
