Easy decor swaps for Fall

It's hard to imagine that Fall is just around the corner as we continue to have 90+ degree heat here in St. Louis.  But I could not be more excited to head into Fall, by FAR my favorite season of the year.  I love throwing on boots and sweaters and eating and drinking pumpkin-flavored food and drinks - cliche, I know!  I also absolutely love transitioning my home from Summer to Fall and it can happen with just a few easy swaps.

SWAP THROW PILLOWS

Swapping out throw pillows is a super easy way to create a different look in your room.   Throw pillows are inexpensive and readily available online and in almost all big name stores, so I suggest you start by swapping out your light, bright and summery pillows for some pillows in more of a jewel tone.  You can also achieve that Fall feel by adding pillows with heavier fabrics, like velvet or wool to give a sense of warmth and coziness.

SWAP THROW BLANKETS

Along the same lines as throw pillows, swapping out your throw blankets is an easy way to transition your home from Summer to Fall.  Again, I would suggest leaning towards more jewel toned colors and choosing chunkier throws.  Put away those light, cotton throws and replace with large wool blankets that just beg to be cuddled on the couch.

SWAP FLORALS FOR FALL BRANCHES

Another easy swap is to replace your vase contents with Fall branches.  While I love to have flowers in my house year round, I love to bring in some seasonal branches in the Fall, like birch or olive branches.  And I particularly love those Fall branches bearing fruit in those bold orange and red fall colors that mimic the changing of the leaves.

SWAP FAUX SUMMER FRUITS FOR FALL HARVESTS

My last easy swap to transition your home to Fall is to throw in some seasonal fruit or pumpkins in your baskets and bowls.  Again, you are bringing in those jewel tones through your accessories.  Pears, figs and mini pumpkins (live or faux) are perfect selections for the Fall season.

There you have it, some easy swaps to get you ready for Fall.  Just remember - JEWEL TONES!  Are you as excited as I am??

Anna
