Brass hardware swaps

We love to shop for new (yet old) furniture pieces at local antique galleries. Believe it or not, it's really hard to find some good quality pieces, like dressers and nightstands, for a reasonable price. Sometimes the pieces we find at antique stores need some major TLC, but oftentimes, it's as simple as swapping out the hardware to give the piece a modern, updated look.

Swapping hardware so easy - it literally takes no time and requires your two hands and sometimes a screw driver. And beyond the minimal time requirement, it can also be super affordable, with some knobs and pulls costing less than $5/piece. If you do the math, it may only cost you around $30 to swap all the hardware on a 3-drawer dresser. That's not bad at all!

The picture above shows a white dresser that we picked up second hand. Not gonna lie, it had some dated knobs that did the piece no favors, so we quickly swapped them out for some plain brass knobs from CB2 (see #4 below). So quick, easy and effective!

Here are some of our favorite brass knobs:

And don't forget, hardware swaps are not limited to furniture. These would be FANTASTIC in any kitchen and bathroom. Hardware swaps are great you want to modernize your kitchen or bath, but you're not quite ready for a total renovation. And again, this is an easy way to make a change in your home!
