WHO WE ARE
Welcome, we are so excited you're here! We are Anna Neal and Melinda Christman, the proud owners of Olive & Opal. The dream to start O+O was born several years ago and has developed over countless cheese plates and bottles of wine. After meeting through mutual friends, we quickly bonded over our shared enthusiasm for home décor and often exchanged advice and ideas as we styled our homes. In early 2017 we finally took the leap to make this dream a reality. We believe in home staging - it works - and we cannot wait to meet you and help you prepare your home for a quick sale with maximum profits! And maybe we can have some fun along the way - you can usually find us at Katie's Pizza!
Design motto: when all else fails, keep it light
I grew up in a house surrounded by women with impeccable taste and developed my passion for home décor through midnight sessions rearranging my bedroom furniture with my older sister. For the holidays, my family gifts coffee table books the way most people hand out gift cards. While I have an accounting degree from the University of Missouri and experience in corporate finance, that urge to rearrange furniture has never left (just ask my husband/mover). At Olive + Opal, I get the best of both worlds – the opportunity to express my creativity while maintaining effective project management and budget adherence (because let’s be honest, I REALLY love spreadsheets). I currently live in Warson Woods with my handsome husband, two wild kids and a crazy Wheaten Terrier.
Personal style: classic, contemporary & eclectic
As a working mother and professional, I completely understand the importance of details, budgets, and deadlines and welcome all challenges with energy and grace. I hold a marketing degree from Missouri State and over ten years experience working at top advertising agencies in Kansas City and St. Louis. I am energized by the fast-paced agency environment and love to help my clients and colleagues find creative solutions. I am a proud Staging Diva Graduate and have been recognized with my former home staging business in the St. Louis Business Journal article, ‘Home front: Selling fast when the market is slow' . I currently live in Warson Woods with my husband and two sweet little girls.
