did you see that call?

One of our biggest challenges starting out was the division of responsibilities among the team. Initially we would divide administrative tasks, such as phone and e-mail responses, between the team based on days of the week. And I have to say, there was nothing worse than texting each other every single time we had a call or text and asking if everyone saw it. If you’re looking for a solution to streamlining your phone calls and texts, we highly recommend Dialpad.

After starting with an alternative phone solution, we switched to Dialpad about two years ago for our business calling and texting. The program works as an app on our phones and has proven to be easy and reliable. Here are some of our favorite features about Dialpad:

everyone has visibility to calls and texts

We set up one main business line for Olive + Opal, but each team member is also assigned a unique phone number which keeps all business matters separate from our personal numbers. When a client calls the main line, the call rings on all our phones and allows for any team member to answer. While Stephanie typically handles phone communications for staging, there are times when other members need to be responsible for the call. Similarly with texts, a client text is accessible to all team members within the app and anyone can respond. This allows us to provide timely responses and also keeps all team members apprised of any communications that may impact a project.

voicemails are sent to e-mail

There are times that we’re not able to pick up our phones during a project and Dialpad automatically sends an e-mail with the transcribed voicemail to all team members. The voicemails are also transcribed within the Dialpad app. This feature really helps us determine the urgency of the call and prioritize our time accordingly. We strive to return phone calls as soon as possible, as well as be prepared to address the caller’s questions, so the voicemail transcription function is essential. We also receive weekly reporting and analytics via e-mail, which helps us understand how seasonality impacts our phone volume and thus, project volume.

affordable solution

Dialpad offers competitive pricing as compared to other business communication providers. The pricing varies based upon the number of users, as well as the functions necessary for your specific business. Our phone needs are pretty basic, so we opted for a low level plan and pay about $20 per user per month. But for business owners that have more significant telecom options, Dialpad offers different tiers to accommodate all users.

We have been really happy with Dialpad - it’s an easy and affordable solution for our team. If you’re struggling to find a system that works for you, we recommend that you check it out.
